User ID in links and ad placements

You can add one more parameter to commission links and ad placements – the so-called user ID.
You store any numeric value in it according to your own logic.

This is typically useful for websites that share their commission with their own users. Such a website needs to know which specific user clicked the affiliate link or banner – and then created an order – so that it can credit them with the reward.

We do not provide partners with any personal data about customers.
You will not see who ordered, nor what exactly they ordered – only the amount of the order. That is intentional, protection of personal data comes first.

This is exactly where the user ID comes in.

How the user ID works

The user ID is any positive whole number that you assign to a specific visitor:

  • into the URL of the commission link
  • or into the code of the ad placement

After a click, this ID is stored with the visit record and subsequently with the order as well. In the partner administration you will then see which order a specific ID is tied to.

What exactly the number means is entirely up to you.
Most often it is the ID of a registered user on your website.

Important notice

The user ID does not work in combination with commission coupons.

Using a commission coupon always takes precedence over a visit through a commission link or an ad placement. If an order is created using a coupon, the user ID is neither stored nor evaluated.

If you need to work with the user ID, do not use commission coupons – or use coupons that are not commission ones.

Use in a commission link

The basic commission link contains the parameter ap, which identifies the campaign.
All you have to do is add the parameter ac, whose value is your user ID.

Original commission link:

https://www.wedos.as/stranka?ap=ABC123

Commission link with a user ID:

https://www.wedos.as/stranka?ap=ABC123&ac=123456

The number 123456 is stored with the visit and with the order and is displayed in the administration.

Use in an ad placement

In ad placements the user ID is added directly into the JavaScript as the variable _adsys_cid.

Basic ad placement code:

<script>
_adsys_id = 100000;
_adsys_size = 6;
</script>
<script src="https://d.wedosas.net/d.js"></script>

Modified code with a user ID:

<script>
_adsys_id = 100000;
_adsys_size = 6;
_adsys_cid = 123456;
</script>
<script src="https://d.wedosas.net/d.js"></script>

The value _adsys_cid then behaves the same way as the user ID in a link – it is stored with the visit and with the order.
