Affiliate coupons are a simple and effective way to turn a recommendation into a commission.
You give the customer a discount – and the system credits you a commission for it.
Within active campaigns, every affiliate partner can create one or more coupons of their own. The customer enters the coupon directly in the order with the advertiser, and the coupon does two things at once:
- the customer gets a discount under the terms of the campaign
- the system knows exactly that the order belongs to you and credits you the commission
The coupon carries your identity – no special link or banner is needed. Even if the customer comes to the advertiser’s site directly, the coupon takes care of everything.
That doesn’t mean links and banners are pointless, though. Quite the opposite.
A coupon only assigns the one specific order it was used in. If you want to be sure that the customer’s further orders count for you as well, it is better to bring them in through an affiliate link or banner first.
An important rule:
When a coupon is used, it always takes precedence over the cookies from an affiliate link.
How should you spread coupons around? Practically any way that makes sense:
- on your own website or blog
- by e-mail (no spamming)
- on social networks
- as an add-on to an affiliate link
- in person or even in print
Coupons are neither universal nor permanent.
Each advertiser announces campaigns for specific products, with set conditions and a period of validity. You will always find the current campaigns you can create coupons for in the partner administration, in the Affiliate coupons section.
Within a single campaign you can create any number of coupons. That makes it easy to tell where they work best – each coupon has its own statistics.

Coupons are not magic. They are just well-designed rules that play in your favour when you use them cleverly.
